NATURAL FANCY YELLOW DIAMONDS
They have been the choice of discerning women throughout the ages, from royalty to the First Lady. Fancy colored Diamonds are for the woman who wants to stand out from the crowd.
The first Fancy Yellow Diamond authenticated in South Africa was the 10.73ct. Eureka. Since that time, many yellow diamonds have been discovered in this country. Most notably, the Allnatt, the Red Cross, and the Incomparable have been some of the most intense and largest yellow diamonds found. These rare diamonds owe their unusual color to high levels of nitrogen in the crystal. But not all yellow diamonds are the same color yellow.

The Gemological Institute of America has a grading system for categorizing the color of Fancy Colored Diamonds. It starts with Fancy Faint, Fancy Light, Fancy, Fancy Intense, and ends with Fancy Vivid. There are other categories but this listing covers most of the diamonds in the market today. You can also have modifying colors, like orangey Yellow and greenish Yellow. Because there are some variables when talking about colored diamonds, we do advise you speak with a qualified jeweler/gemologist to understand exactly what you are purchasing. Yellow Diamonds have made many trips down the red carpet at movie award shows, premieres, and even a presidential inauguration ball. Hillary Clinton wore the 4.23 carat "Kahn Canary" flawless diamond to President Bill Clinton’s Inaugural Ball and other important events.
The reason she chose this particular diamond was that it was mined in their home state of Arkansas. Coffin & Trout has always stood out from the crowd for the past 23 years. Join us in our celebration of Fancy Colored Yellow Diamonds as we embrace the colors of our world.
