Are you looking for a way to express your gratitude to a nurse for all they do? These nurse gifts will be sure to make the nurses in your life feel special and appreciated.
It’s been quite the year for healthcare workers, and nurses on the front lines of the pandemic have borne the brunt of the physical, emotional, and mental effects. If you have a special nurse in your life — a mom, significant other, daughter, aunt, niece, or friend — let them know how grateful you are for all they do. A handwritten note or some other gesture is always welcome by those who put their lives and personal well-being on the line every day.
Whether you’re looking for an extra special gift for a nurse, or you need a graduation gift for a nursing student, you’ll find something they are sure to love among our collection of necklace pendants just for nurses.
We created these pendants in honor and appreciation of Florence Nightingale and nurses everywhere. Each necklace features a heart-shaped pendant with cut-outs in the shape of an oil lamp and a flame. The pendant is suspended from a flame.
Heart & Light: Symbols of Heroism
Why the lamp and flame? They were inspired by Florence Nightingale, the British social reformer and statistician, who is recognized as the founder of modern nursing. She became known as “The Lady with the Lamp” when during wartime, she would walk among the beds, checking the wounded soldiers with a lamp in her hand.
This image became a comfort to many, and we’ve used these symbols in our Nurses Association necklace collection to show the heart and light nurses put into their work every day. It was Nightingale who informed today’s standards of nursing and elevated the profession to one viewed as heroic and admirable.
Your gift of one of these pendants comes with something extra for nurses in Arizona: With every purchase, 10% of the profits is donated to the Arizona Nurses Association.
