The American Gem Trade Association has announced the winners of the prestigious 2016 AGTA Spectrum Awards. The 32nd annual event was held in New York on October 24th and 25th and is regarded as the world’s preeminent colored gemstone and cultured pearl design competition.

Randy Coffin of Coffin & Trout Fine Jewelers was recognized with his first such award. As a company, they now have 10 AGTA Spectrum Awards. Coffin & Trout Fine Jewelers has been building award-winning jewelry here in the valley since 1984. Family owned and operated, they create pieces that are unique, beautiful and well-crafted. Their goal is to build timeless heirlooms that can be passed down for generations.

The stunning piece designed by Mr. Coffin was commissioned by one of the foremost jewelry collections in the world, Somewhere in the Rainbow. The star of the ring is a rare 17.76ct Tri-Color Tourmaline. The Tourmaline displays pink, blue and green colors which are complimented perfectly on the sides by glowing Paraiba Tourmalines and pastel Pink Sapphires. Flowing diamond accents finish off this Platinum masterpiece.
